April 14, 2021

When my daughter was younger, I used to give her my secret immune-boosting remedy to help protect her from viral infections.

Are You Suffering From...

  • Love handles and a pot belly
  • Romance that isn't what it used to
  • Forgetfulness and inattention
  • Low (or no) strength and endurance
  • A sex drive that's shifted into neutral...or worse

If so...you may have Mature Male Burnout.  Click here to discover more about this unique condition and what you can do about it.

Today I’m going to share my secret with you.

Two of my favorite spices are ginger and garlic.  So when flu season came around, I would pull out these large jars I had. I’d put sliced organic lemons inside. Then I would add huge chunks of sliced ginger and garlic. Finally I would fill it with organic honey and let it sit for a while. Continue reading

First we have what we’re calling COVID “long-haulers”. These are people who have recovered from COVID, but have both new and lingering symptoms weeks and months after being COVID-free.

Second are all of the people who won’t get the vaccine… not anti-vaxxers, but the vaccine concerned. I understand why – the vaccines have no long-term safety data, and these folks don’t want to be a guinea pig for the phase three clinical trials that weren’t done because of the emergent nature of need with lack of time, but which is being done now with almost 100 million injections to date. So they’re just as vulnerable to the virus today as they were on day one. Continue reading

What Color of Food Do You Eat?

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

April 9, 2021

It’s an odd thing.

Humans have been eating fruits and vegetables for thousands of years. All kinds and colors of them, and in great quantity.

The World's Quickest Solution for Ending Prostate and Urinary Misery

This has recently been revealed to be one of the only real breakthroughs in prostate health.

In fact, UCLA and Veterans Administration research have now proved this to be true.

Not only that, but it may be the worlds quickest solution for ending prostate misery.

Simply stated, these phytonutrients represent a huge step beyond beta sitosterol, saw palmetto, and other phytosterols alone.

Today we don’t eat fruits and veggies that way.

First off, we don’t eat nearly as much colorful plant-based foods as we used to, even from a few generations ago. Continue reading

Can this Predict an Upcoming Heart Attack?

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

April 7, 2021

When most people think of a heart attack, they imagine a scene on TV where a guy clutches at his chest and stumbles to the ground.

Are You Suffering From...

That’s not reality. It’s a television dramatization.

Many people having a heart attack only experience a minor discomfort in their chest, sometimes none at all. You might just have pain in the jaw, neck, shoulder or arm. It might feel like your heart is beating out of your chest. Nausea, shortness of breath and sweating could all be symptoms, even if there is no chest discomfort. And yes, in some cases it might feel like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Continue reading

Covid has Changed the Way We Eat

Covid has changed the way we eat. It had to.

You see, back when we didn’t have a potential life saving injection available, it didn’t take very long for people to realize that good nutrition and wholesome foods with supplementation when appropriate were some of the only tools in their arsenal to boost their immune systems and help fight against Covid-19.

As a result, a lot of people have become much more conscious about what they’re eating. The concept of “food as medicine” is finally going mainstream. And more and more people are joining the movement. Continue reading

The Most Natural Stress-Buster You’ll Ever Find

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 29, 2021

Back when my kids were little, they wanted a treehouse. Well, we lived in North Miami Beach at the time, and it’s really difficult to find an old oak tree to build a treehouse down here. But I had a copse of palm trees in the backyard.

Guess what I did?

I built a “next to the tree” tree house – so the kids could have a house within the trees. Continue reading

Too much of this makes you look old

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 24, 2021

We’ve always lived with blue light from the sun. Now we’re getting it from our electronic screens too. So we’re exposed to a lot more blue light than we used be.

And it’s crazy how much time people are spending on their phones these days! Depending on which poll you read, people are averaging anywhere from 3.25 hours to 5.7 hours each day on their smartphones…every day.

Do the math and that adds up to between 53 and 86 days a year on their phones.

You already know it’s bad for your eyes. You can tell that by the eye fatigue and strain you experience.

But did you know it’s also secretly aging you?

Just think about it. When you’re on your smartphone, tablet or computer the blue light is shining directly on your face and neck. It’s up close and personal. Even the flashes from taking selfies can accelerate skin aging.

This blue light can drill all the way down to your dermis. That’s where your collagen and elastin are. They are what make up your skin. They keep it firm and elastic. But when blue light penetrates the dermis, it starts breaking them down.

Your skin loses its elasticity and firmness. It starts sagging. Wrinkles begin to show. Age spots and hyperpigmentation make their presence known.

What’s interesting is this…

You can Repair Blue Light Skin Damage

If you sprayed some copper directly onto your skin, or increased your oral intake of copper, you would help repair your skin.

That’s because copper aids in the cross-linking of elastin and collagen to repair connective tissues and make new skin. It is also vital to the melanin that maintains the pigmentation of your skin. (Copper also plays a role in maintaining your natural hair color.)

There are several brands of copper facial sprays available on the internet. I haven’t tried one yet, but If you decide to give one of them a try, look for one that doesn’t contain a lot of extra ingredients. The more names you can pronounce and the shorter the ingredient list, the better off you are.

Eating the right kinds of foods can also help repair and ward off damage from blue light.

In general, a diet high in vegetables, fruits, olive oil, nuts, legumes and fish is going to offer protection against skin aging.

A diet high in meat, dairy, sugars, processed foods and fried foods is going to have the opposite effect.

It’s as simple as that.

What about Your Eyes?

I protect my eyes at work with a blue blocker. These are regular glasses that have the lenses that block blue light. I get awful headaches and blurred vision without them.

And here’s an interesting tidbit.

These types of lenses started with the NASA space program. As you can imagine, the astronauts needed some pretty strong protection for their eyes while up in space, where ultraviolet rays are a lot stronger than they are down here.

You also have a few other protective options besides light blocking glasses.

A lot of smartphones have a blue light filter setting on them these days. Even if your phone doesn’t have one, there are plenty of apps for them that you can download.

For your larger devices, a blue light blocking screen protector might be a good option. (You can probably find these for more popular smartphones too, like Samsung Galaxy and iPhone.)

Regardless of which option you choose, it’s always a good idea to protect your skin and eyes from blue light as much as possible – whether at your computer or outdoors in the sun.

What do Hydroxychloroquine and Green Tea have in Common?

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 19, 2021

I drink two to three cups of green tea each day.

I like to mix and match them. I have matcha green tea in the morning, a jasmine green tea mid to late morning and then in the afternoon I’ll go with one that’s decaffeinated. (That way I won’t have the caffeine in my system at bedtime.)

It’s not just the flavor I’m looking for, it’s all of the health benefits that green tea offers.

It helps wake you up. It gives you focus and energy. Green tea is great for your memory, cardiovascular system and helps keep your blood sugar steady. It can even support weight loss.

But these days, there’s another reason why I’m drinking several cups green tea each day, and you should be drinking it to.

That’s because there’s something you probably don’t know about green tea. Most people don’t.

Green Tea in the Battle against Viral Infections

Do you remember when everyone was talking about hydroxychloroquine last year?

The reason it got so much attention is because hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) acts as something called an ionophore. What an ionophore does is facilitate the transport of things through the cell membrane into the cell.

Specifically, the researchers wanted HCQ to bring zinc into the cells. That’s because you need zinc in your white blood cells to help fight off viruses like Covid-19.

It was a good idea, but the drug had a lot of side effects. Some of them were life threatening, and not really something you would want to deal with.

Well guess what else is an ionophore?

Green tea!

It’s true. Green tea is a natural ionophore.

The World's Quickest Solution for Ending Prostate and Urinary Misery

This has recently been revealed to be one of the only real breakthroughs in prostate health.

When you take your zinc with green tea, you’ll get more zinc into your white blood cells where it can help protect you from any potential viral infections.

You can thank epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) for this. Green tea is abundant in this catechin, which acts as an ionophore and has extremely positive effects on your health. EGCG is such a potent healer that it even works at a genetic level to turn on genes that protect you from cancer.

So everything about green tea is great. I highly recommend two or three cups a day.

When you make it, I suggest using loose, organic tea leaves. These often contain higher levels EGCG. You might also try something like The Republic of Tea’s organic choices. Be sure to go for the unbleached tea bags.

And, in case you’re wondering about green tea supplements… I recommend you stay away. There have been some reports of liver problems when people overdo it with these supplements.

Are there any other natural Ionophores?

While I prefer the power of the EGCG in green tea, there is another flavonoid that can act as a natural ionophore and give your immune system an additional boost.

It’s quercetin. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. It’s the potent antioxidant associated with onions and garlic.  You can also find it in other foods that you eat every day.

Chili peppers, kale, spinach, asparagus and broccoli are some of the vegetables that contain quercetin. Fruits include cranberries, cherries and blueberries.

While you can certainly add more of these foods to your diet, it might not be enough to truly support ionophoric activity. But it’s easy enough to supplement with 200 to 500 mg of quercetin twice a day with meals. Look for a supplement that also contain bromelain to improve absorption.
