- Can you fix this plumbing problem?
- Don’t buy into this form of chemical castration
- 5 natural herbs for a stronger urine flow
We men have a serious plumbing problem. Our urine comes out of a urethra that’s just about the width of a toothpick.
That’s not a lot of space to pass huge amounts of liquid through, but it seems to work well enough… until you have an enlarged prostate. Then it can become a pretty serious problem. And it’s one most men don’t know how to fix.
When your prostate becomes enlarged (a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH), it presses down on your urethra like a vise. This can cause all sorts of troubles when it comes to passing fluids through your pipe.
If you’re experiencing any of these problems, you’ll know it. You’ll find yourself making constant trips to the bathroom, especially at night. You may feel a sense of urgency… but when you stand over the toilet, you may only be able to dribble.
As if that weren’t torture enough, an enlarged prostate can also lead to serious health conditions, such as kidney or bladder damage, bladder stones and incontinence.

Unfortunately, almost all men will experience BPH at some point in their lives. But, it’s certainly not part of the normal aging process.
Some researchers believe prostate enlargement is an inflammatory response. This may be why certain foods that cause inflammation, like red meat and dairy products, tend to increase the risk.
But there’s another link here that may be even more important.
There’s a male hormone called dihydrotestosterone – or DHT. This is the hormone that helps bring your prostate to full size during puberty. It’s produced by an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into DHT.
Here’s the problem…
Once you hit your 40s, your testosterone starts metabolizing at a higher rate. This stimulates DHT production. And, guess what? This causes your prostate to start growing again.
This excess production of DHT is also linked to hair loss in men. In fact, one of mainstream medicine’s treatments for BPH is finasteride. This drug is often used to treat male-pattern baldness under the names Proscar and Propecia.
Finasteride works by inhibiting 5-alpha reductase production. This, in turn, blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT.
The World's Quickest Solution for Ending Prostate and Urinary Misery
This has recently been revealed to be one of the only real breakthroughs in prostate health.
The seeds of a strange fruit (sometimes called "Chinese Apples") hold powerful phytonutrients that are a revolution in prostate health.
In fact, UCLA and Veterans Administration research have now proved this to be true.
Not only that, but it may be the worlds quickest solution for ending prostate misery.
Simply stated, these phytonutrients represent a huge step beyond beta sitosterol, saw palmetto, and other phytosterols alone.

But I don’t like resorting to drugs to treat the condition. They can make you impotent.
These drugs decrease your sex drive and make it tough to get and maintain an erection. They increase your risk of growing male breasts and make your testes hurt. They’re basically a form of chemical castration!
I prefer a safer, more natural approach, especially when it comes to treating mild to moderate BPH.
My first line of defense to treat enlargement of the prostate includes herbs that reduce inflammation and help normalize your hormones. Here are five of them I recommend most often to my patients…
- Saw palmetto (320 mg twice daily) has been the topic of numerous studies when it comes to your prostate. It’s even been compared to finasteride in scientific studies. It turns out saw palmetto is just as effective as finasteride in improving BPH symptoms and urine flow.
- Rye grass pollen (60 to 120 mg twice daily) affects testosterone levels, relaxes the urethra and improves how well the bladder can force urine out. All of these actions reduce the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as dribbling after urinating or having to get up several times at night to go to the bathroom.
- African pygeum (50 mg twice daily) reduces inflammation in the prostate. That’s one reason I like it. But that’s not all it does. This herb also increases urine flow and reduces the amount of residual urine left in the bladder.
- Pumpkin seed oil (160 mg three times per day with meals) can slash BPH symptoms almost in half. Combined with other prostate-friendly herbs, pumpkin seed oil successfully reduces both day-time and night-time urination frequency in about 70 to 80 percent of men.
- Beta-sitosterol (60 to 130 mg daily) won’t shrink your prostate. But it will reduce your trips to the bathroom – both during the day and at night. At the same time, it works to improve urine flow and bladder emptying.
I also suggest doing Kegel exercises. These are the same “squeeze and hold” exercises women use to help reduce urinary incontinence. But they work for men, too.
You see, both men and women have a PC muscle. This muscle runs from the pubic bone in the front to the tailbone in the back. When you exercise your PC muscle regularly, it helps strengthen bladder function and control.
The first step is to locate the right muscle. The easiest way to do this is to stand or sit at the toilet and try to stop and start the flow of urine mid-stream as you eliminate. If you can do this, you’ll know you’re contracting the right muscle.
Once you’ve located your PC muscle, the idea is to clench it for 5 to 10 seconds, and then release the contraction. You should breathe regularly while doing this exercise, and rest between each contraction.
You can easily do this while lying in bed, sitting in a chair, standing, or even walking. You can also do the exercises while urinating, but don’t do that too often, since it could lead to infections.
For best results, perform this exercise for five to 15 contractions, three to five times each day.

thank you for this. i’m still having issues. i have experienced my diet has a big impact here. more veggies, white meat over read, salads and avoiding gluten, peanuts and other inflammatory foods has been helpful. Problem is I’m not always in a “controlled” environment, let alone poor discipline. I need a solution. thanks again. will give things a try
Magnesium taken throughout the day is important too; for more than just control over ones bladder. It is the Great Regulator and little can be stored in the lining of the intestines because many elements, vitamin C for one, are also stored there.
Magnesium water can be made, a concentrate to add to your drinking water, or as I, have on hand and take a gulp throughout the day and evening and bed time.
Google it and you will find how to make Magnesium Water; but double the recipe (Clubs Soda and Milk of Magnesia) to make 2 litres and you will have nearly enough concentrate for a month.
what Herbs will Stimulatet urination. I take no meds.
iam 73 yrs old i have been taken flowmax for 2 yrs iam afraid of the side efects please let me know what you are taken for this problem any help i would appreiate it thank you.
I had suffered from weak urine flow for over 2 years. I had tried saw palmetto and pumpkin seed, which were helpful but not a complete cure. Then a friend of mine recommended me a herbal medicine called diuretic anti-inflammatory pill. Luckily, the urinary issues were cured fully. Other symptoms that related to prostate infection were also cure. It’s an effective medicine.
Hello kelvin i also have the same problem from year. Would you tell please is there any side effect of these pills and now you are fully cured.

Hi kelvin , is there a brand name to the medication you mentioned.
Can’t you name a medicine please made up of herbs which is capable of giving me relief from slow flow of urine due to a little enlargement in prostrate..
Because I may not be able to search the trade name of the particular pill or.capsule..
i’m 49, i exercise, and eat right right but for the past 5 years i’ve had what may be considered a “weak” or “slow” urine stream. online i always see “slow/weak urine flow” as a symptom for BPH, yet there’s no indicator of what exactly constitutes “slow” urine flow. when i pee it typically takes me 2-5 seconds for the flow to start and then once it does, i average about 45 seconds to pee. sometimes less, sometimes more, depending on how much liquid i’ve taken in. i should note that although it takes me 45 seconds, i can still stand about a foot back from the toilet and still hit center water and sometimes even the back of the bowl. so can anyone here comment on what “slow/weak” urine stream is in terms of time to pee?
It sounds like you have pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD), but it’s hard to say…the symptoms you describe sound like PFD. I have had urinary problems for about 15 years now and have read about everything there is to read on the subject. You’re pretty young to have prostate problems, but I suppose it’s possible. If it’s PFD you may have other symptoms as well. You can read up on it. There are activities that can cause PFD…Riding a bike a lot, horseback riding, or just sitting a lot (like if you have a desk job) can create pelvic floor problems. The pelvic floor is a rather complex network of muscles, nerves, etc.. We don’t think much about urinating or having a bowel movement until things start not working the way they should. It’s something we do automatically, but in reality there is a fairly complex process that sends signals from the pelvic floor to the brain telling us we have to “go” and then for those signals to “talk” to the pelvic floor so it will do its job.
2-5 seconds is not a long time to start the flow… I wish it only took me that long! Some people will take 2 or 3 minutes (or longer ) got get a stream started. 45 seconds though is a very long time to empty. A normal bladder when full should empty in about 10 to 15 seconds depending on how full it is. Doesn’t sound like you have a real weak stream. I’d read up on PFD and see if that might be the problem. If it is, there are exercises you can do to relax the pelvic floor….lots of sites show these a well as on Youtube.
