The Best Sugar Substitute Available Today

  • Are sugar-free beverages your best choice?
  • How no-calorie sweeteners sabotage your gut
  • Raise your glass high… and drink to your health

Swapping your sugary soda for a sugar-free iced tea or diet cola might sound like a smart decision. But drinking beverages labeled “sugar-free” won’t do anything to help you lose weight, prevent diabetes or make you healthier.

You see, most sugar-free drinks contain artificial sweeteners.

These “fake” sugars elicit the same response from your body that real sugar does. But they don’t provide any calories. There’s not an ounce of energy in them. This tricks your taste buds – and your body – into thinking a big dose of sugar is on its way. Continue reading

4 Nutrients to Unclog Your Fatty Liver

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 31, 2017

  • This silent disease is a top cause of liver transplants
  • Is it time to put your liver on a diet?
  • 4 nutrients to unclog your fatty liver

When I first started practicing medicine, I didn’t see a lot of liver disease. When I did run across a case, it usually involved someone who was a heavy drinker. There really weren’t a lot of surprises.

Over the years, that has changed a lot. More and more non-drinkers are developing liver disease. In fact, non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) is responsible for about three-quarters of liver disease diagnosed here in the U.S.

Even worse, over the past 10 years, liver transplants associated with NAFLD have increased by a whopping 170%. This makes it the second most common type of liver disease that’s putting people on waiting lists for transplants.

The explosive growth of this deadly disease is a horrible tragedy. And it comes with some very scary facts: Continue reading

  • My mother’s recipe for health and longevity

Sipping on bone broth/bone stock is the latest health trend. But the concept of bone broth certainly isn’t new.

My mother, her mother before her (and so on down the line) knew the value of a hardy soup stock made from bones. Back in the day, it was a very inexpensive way to create nutrient-rich meals.

Today, people all across the U.S. are jumping on the bone broth bandwagon.

But they aren’t making meals of it. They’re sipping on it throughout the day in an effort to lose weight, protect their joints, strengthen their digestive health and all sorts of other things. Continue reading

When I was in medical school I spent hours pouring over medical journals. I remember how tired my eyes would get… how the black ink sometimes seemed like it was turning gray. Eventually, it would get too blurry to read.

Back then I didn’t know how to relieve symptoms of dry, tired and gritty eyes. I’d rub them like crazy and give them a little dose of Visine. It seldom helped. Sometimes it even seemed to make things worse.

These days I know better. Truth is, I don’t know how I would ever be able to spend hours on my computer, tablet or smartphone without the knowledge I have today. Continue reading

  • Are antacids destroying your health?
  • Why you may need more stomach acid, not less
  • Diagnosing the source of your digestive issues

When people come to me with chronic indigestion, the first thing I ask is what they’re currently doing to relieve their symptoms.

If I learn they’re taking a class of antacids called proton-pump inhibitors, or PPIs, I immediately advise to begin weaning off of them. It’s important to come down slowly since the longer you’re dosing with them the more proton pumps the body is making and the larger the rebound acid effect will be if you just go off cold turkey.

The reason is simple. This class of drugs comes with serious health dangers that their manufacturers would much rather you didn’t know about. Continue reading

Statins: The Biggest Fraud

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

  • Big Pharma is perpetuating a fraud
  • The ugly side of statins
  • LDL isn’t a problem, but this is…

Big Pharma is constantly looking for new ways to rope you into taking statin drugs. And they actively discourage any reporting of negative side effects.

The only message they want you to hear is that these drugs will protect you from a heart attack and might save your life. There have even been reports of added benefits to taking statins.

For example, last month you may have seen headlines stating taking a statin might help ward off Alzheimer’s disease. In recent years there have also been some reports that these drugs can reduce the incidence of certain types of cancer.

Don’t fall for it.

Save Your Teeth, Save Your Life

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 6, 2017

  • The amazing nutrient that heals gum disease
  • Poor dental health linked to poor physical health
  • Save your teeth, save your life

Back in the 1970’s, scientists made a groundbreaking discovery.

They found that the majority of people suffering from gingivitis and periodontal disease had extremely low blood levels of a specific nutrient.

But guess what happened when patients with gingival pockets, swelling, pain, bleeding and loose teeth caused by gum disease took 50 mg of this nutrient each day?

In just three weeks all of them showed improvement in the condition of their gums. In fact, the results were equivalent to 6 months of regular dental care… but occurred in less than a single month!

Over the years, the use of this nutrient in dental health has practically vanished. That’s a great injustice to anyone who suffers from gum disease. Worse, it may be damaging much more than your dental health.

Rewire Your Body to Combat Fatigue

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

  • A common but often missed cause of fatigue
  • Is exhaustion making you older than your years?
  • The best fatigue-fighter on earth

Does fatigue automatically come with age? Is it natural to find yourself spending more time drowsing around on the couch, watching TV and napping as you grow older?

These are questions that I hear from patients on a regular basis. Many of them are quite healthy and have no underlying conditions that contribute to feelings of exhaustion.

Yet here they are… slogging through their days at a snail’s pace… afraid that if they use any extra energy they’ll feel even more run down.

Sound familiar? Continue reading
