When Your Feet Feel Like They are On Fire

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

March 2, 2022

People don’t comprehend the absolute unremitting pain of peripheral neuropathy. It begins with tingling in the feet, then moves on to a feeling of “pins and needles” or burning sensations like your feet are on fire. It can even feel as if you’re walking on clouds – like your feet aren’t touching the floor – because you can’t feel the floor.

But it’s not until the real pain starts that people begin to get upset. That’s when it starts interfering with daily activities, because it’s difficult to walk or remain standing for any length of time.

Left untreated, it could lead to numbness and a loss of feeling in the feet, which can severely affect your balance. Continue reading

The Only Proven Way to Reverse Diabetes

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

June 24, 2020

Diabetes is running rampant in our nation! An astounding 120+ million American adults have either pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes.

And I’m completely dumbfounded by it…

Why? Because type 2 diabetes is largely preventable. It doesn’t matter if you are genetically susceptible or not. Your choices can still make or break you. Continue reading

What your feet say about your health

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

September 20, 2019

As a kid, I remember thinking that my sleeping foot was the funniest thing.  I sat there looking at my leg while it slowly woke up — a hundred tiny needles poking me the whole time.

I could feel my foot coming alive again…

Now, this happens to everyone.  So I’m sure you’ve sat too long in one position and had a leg fall asleep…or an arm when you lean against it too long. It’s uncomfortable for a few minutes, but then the tingling feeling goes away.

But, what if that numbness in your foot or arm doesn’t go away?  What does it mean if those strange feelings are always there? Continue reading

Two Ways to Cure Diabetes

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

December 14, 2018

Once someone is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, they often believe it’s a life-long condition that has to be “managed”.  But there is nothing farther from the truth.

Diabetes is completely reversible. I’ve seen over and over again in my own patients. And there is plenty of evidence to back me up on this.

In particular, there is a chain of diabetes studies I’ve been following for several years now. It’s a trio of scientific articles that absolutely prove diabetic patients can put their diabetes into remission and toss their anti-diabetic medications in a matter of weeks– with long-lasting results.Isn’t this what every diabetic dreams of?

One thing we know for sure is this. Diabetes medications don’t cure or reverse diabetes. All they do is lower high blood sugar, which is only a sign of the disease.  And in my experience, these meds can actually make diabetes worse. Continue reading

Is Perfect Blood Sugar Possible?

By David Blyweiss, M.D., Advanced Natural Wellness

November 5, 2018

D.J. was in a tizzy when she came into my office. She’s a seasonal resident (snow bird) who just arrived in South Florida for the winter. And only a couple weeks ago she was diagnosed as pre-diabetic by her physician up in Wisconsin.

After talking with her, he wrote out a prescription for Metformin. (That’s the only medication recommended by the American Diabetes Association to delay the onset of diabetes.)

He also explained that if she progressed to type 2 diabetes she would be at greater risk of a cardiovascular event. So he wanted her to start taking a low-dose statin, too.

At the time she thought it all sounded extremely reasonable.

But the drugs are making her dizzy and giving her diarrhea. They also make her “feel funny” – but not in a good way.

“Could you give me something else?” she asked.

That was the wrong question. Continue reading

Why I Never Use Artificial Sweeteners

  • Sugar free isn’t always your healthiest choice
  • Why you should never use artificial sweeteners
  • The best sugar substitute on earth

There are plenty of places to lay blame for today’s epidemic of obesity and diabetes. And most of them boil down to lifestyle choices.

However, there is one thing that I believe is greatly adding fuel to the problem. It’s a common decision that millions of people make every day in the name of good health.

It’s the conscious choice to opt for artificially sweetened foods and beverages.

Let me explain… Continue reading

Diabetes Amputation Warning

  • Diabetes drug doubles rates of amputation
  • Why diabetes isn’t necessarily a sugar problem
  • Your first line of defense against this deadly disease

As a physician, my first line of treatment for all of my patients is to “do no harm”. Like all medical doctors, I took the Hippocratic Oath. And I take it very seriously.

But I have a problem with today’s version of medicine. These days, we doctors are urged to provide treatment in the form of manmade drugs. And in so many cases, these prescription meds are riddled with horrible side effects.

In a recent article on Advanced Natural Wellness, I shared my concerns about the nearly fraudulent practice of prescribing of statin drugs. Today, I want to warn you about one of the most popular diabetes drugs on the market. Continue reading
